Patrick Kain is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Purdue University. He regularly teaches courses in ethics and the history of philosophy, at the introductory, intermediate and graduate levels, and is a founding faculty fellow in the Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts Program, which is dedicated to helping students throughout the university to engage "big questions” and transformative texts while refining their oral and written communication skills. Kain is particularly interested in understanding the role of human dignity in the foundations of ethics, and his scholarship often focuses on the philosophy of Immanuel Kant, esp. on Kant’s ethics, and connections with his epistemology, anthropology and philosophy of religion. During 2018-19, Kain serves as Alvin Plantinga Fellow at the Center for Philosophy of Religion at the University of Notre Dame.
