I am professor of philosophy at University of Cincinnati. I am currently writing a book on empathy for Routledge New Ideas in Philosophy series, and another on the nature and use of perspective taking. I have also edited two books on empathy, Empathy and Morality (OUP 2014) and Routledge Handbook of Philosophy of Empathy (2017). So I'm fairly interested in knowing other minds and feeling with others.
I am also concerned with exploring the idea of philosophy as a way of life. In a way, this is reflected in my research interests, but it has recently gained more of a focus with my developing a course on the Meaning of Life. This has really brought into focus how much philosophy has to offer to the more everyday pursuit of living a good and meaningful life.
