I am a Research Fellow (Postdoc Humboldt-Professur) in Philosophy at Leipzig University. I obtained my PhD from King's College London, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago. In my research and teaching, I explore the existential significance of metaphysical thought. How does reflection on the fundamental nature of thought and being bear on how we are to live? I am especially interested in the Platonic conception of the true self as mind or spirit (nous). Aside from academic philosophy, I write prose poems and literary essays.
