I'm a philosopher at San Jose State University. I work primarily in the intersection of metaphysics and normativity, and also have some projects in the philosophy of law and philosophy of religion. Most recently, I've been thinking about free will and how best to characterize who a person is.

As a teacher of philosophy, I try to make students see how philosophy is already a part of their lives. I then attempt to get them to embrace philosophy as something that can enrich both their day to day lives and long-term projects. I also care a lot about advising and mentorship, and have recently taken the role of University Director of Pre-law Advising. When not doing philosophy, I enjoy hanging out with Ponyo (i.e., the world's best cat), playing sports, and basking in the California sun.
