Robbie Kubala is a Lecturer in the Core Curriculum at Columbia University. He is interested in how general humanities courses can foster student habits of self-reflection. His research is in ethics and aesthetics, and he has published papers on the psychology of valuing, aesthetic obligations, literary intentionalism, the relationship between philosophy and literature, and Proust. In 2013, he co-founded Rethink, an outreach program that facilitates philosophical discussions among members of marginalized and underprivileged groups, including court-invoved youth and survivors of domestic abuse and sex trafficking.
